UrbanLinkz Media wins contract to design, build and maintain street furniture in Singapore

The local regulating authority has just announced that the UrbanLinkz Group has won a term contract to design, build and operate (DBO) selected bus and taxi shelters in Singapore, beating long-time industry heavyweights such as Clear Channel and JCDecaux.

The contract will see UrbanLinkz take over the maintenance of bus and taxi shelters in mainly the HDB towns of Woodlands, Sembawang and Yishun, as well as a number in the CBD, accounting for about 10% of the total market.

Owing to the growing importance of this source of non-fare revenue to the company's profits, the Group today officiated the setting up of new subsidiary UrbanLinkz Media which will focus on promoting outdoor advertising on our buses, taxis and ferries, as well as the bus and taxi shelters under our charge.

Said Chief Executive Officer Hafiz BAM, "We are very delighted to have won this much sought after contract which will not only help to propel UrbanLinkz to become one of Singapore's leading provider of outdoor advertising solutions, but also contribute greatly to our non-fare revenue. This is especially welcome in a period of volatile fuel prices which are greatly affecting our bus and taxi divisions."
