New Scania OmniCity buses for UrbanLinkz Buses

As part of our continuous service improvement efforts and fleet renewal programme, UrbanLinkz Buses is pleased to announce the arrival of 50 brand new Scania OmniCity double-decker buses which are fully-built by Scania, including the bodywork which is usually supplied by other manufacturers.

Already a hit with commuters in other parts of the world such as London, the new air-conditioned buses will provide a new level of comfort for passengers who have just gotten accustomed to yet another batch of new buses such as the Volvo B9TL double-decker buses with Enviro400 and Wright Eclipse Gemini bodyworks, as well as the Mercedes-Benz Citaro articulated buses, more popularly referred to as the bendy bus here, which also won the title of Bus of the Year for 2007.

Said Muhammad Hafiz BAM, CEO of UrbanLinkz Corporation, "The addition of the new buses this year alone is a testimony of our commitment to continue serving local commuters who rely on the bus to get around, to the best of our ability. We will not hesitate to give our commuters the utmost level of comfort and convenience which they can experience for themselves onboard these spanking new buses."

The Scania OmniCity bus was chosen as it fits the requirements set out by the local authority such as being low-floor and wheelchair-accessible, as well as being equipped with a Euro IV engine. All these will contribute not only to the smooth journey for the commuter but a cleaner environment for all.

Out of the 50 Scania OmniCity buses to commence operations from Sunday 2 September 2007, 10 will be deployed on route 728 (Choa Chu Kang to Tampines), 15 will be deployed on route 739 (Yew Tee to Marina Centre), another 15 on route 785 (Clementi to Bedok) and the remaining ten on route 738 (Choa Chu Kang to Victoria Street).
