Milestones

Late 1990s


- Opaque Transit was launched, signifying the entry of yet another private firm in the local public bus service scene following greater market liberalisation.

- Opaque Transit was renamed Trans Transit to reflect the company's rapid rise in becoming a leading public transport service operator in the country.

Year 2001


- Rival CityTrans Corporation took over the operations of Trans Transit in a deal which proved to be unsuccessful in the years to come. During this period, Trans Transit buses undergone many changes.

Initially, buses were repainted with the merged entity's new CityFizz livery. This was followed soon enough with yet another livery change to that of UrbanLinkz's, the company set up to oversee the niche bus service market in Singapore whose fleet consists of majority Trans Transit buses.

Year 2005


- UrbanLinkz was formally made a separate public bus service company independent of CityFizz Corporation following the failed merger of the two companies.

- UrbanLinkz acquired Island Transit Bus Services (ITBS).

- UrbanLinkz opened Jurong West Bus Interchange to much fanfare.

- UrbanLinkz, together with XYGinc and Harmony Bus Services, launched Nucleus Systems Pte Ltd, a new support systems company catering to the needs of member companies of the TransPacific Alliance.

- UrbanLinkz launched its own taxi subsidary UrbanCab Pte Ltd in December with an initial fleet of 100 Toyota Crown taxis.

- UrbanLinkz Buses introduced its first ever night bus services, effectively making it a 24-hour company serving commuters round-the-clock.

Year 2006


- UrbanLinkz acquired Singapore Bus Transit (SBT) whose operations and assets have since been brought under UrbanLinkz Buses.

- UrbanLinkz Buses' second bus depot in Teck Whye starts operations.

- Urban City Tours, a sightseeing bus service company catered for tourists to Singapore, was set up as yet another subsidiary of UrbanLinkz.

Year 2007


- UrbanLinkz opened its second bus terminal in Yew Tee.

- The operations and assets of Island Transit Bus Services (ITBS) were brought under UrbanLinkz Buses.

- UrbanLinkz Corporation launched its new subsidiary UrbanLinkz Ferries following the takeover of five small local ferry companies, signifying the entry of UrbanLinkz into the local ferry service market.

- UrbanLinkz acquired 51% stake in Harmony Bus Services.
