Changes to UrbanLinkz bus services

To serve our commuters better, UrbanLinkz Buses will be streamlining our bus service operations in stages from February to March 2007. The rationalisation of bus services involves the integration of ITBS services into the more familiar UrbanLinkz family, the withdrawal of services that duplicate the rail system and other bus services, as well as the introduction of new ones to improve connectivity and add convenience to your travelling needs.

From Sunday, 25 February 2007
- Withdrawal of UrbanLinkz services 167, 168, 169 & 721
- Introduction of new service 753
- Renumbering of UrbanLinkz service 852

The following industrial services will be withdrawn to reduce duplication:

167 Sembawang to Woodlands via Senoko
168 Yishun to Woodlands via Senoko
169 Yishun to Woodlands via Senoko
721 Choa Chu Kang to Woodlands via Sungei Kadut

Affected commuters to Senoko industrial estate may take alternative new service 753 to be introduced on the same day. Plying between Yishun and Woodlands, new service 753 will provide a convenient link for residents of the north to the main employment centre of Senoko, at the same time connecting the industrial estate with major destinations such as Woodlands, Sembawang and Yishun bus interchanges and train stations.

On the same day, UrbanLinkz service 852 currently plying between Yishun and Boon Lay via Bukit Panjang, will be renumbered as service 752 to reduce confusion among commuters. Other operating details remain unchanged.

To reduce duplication with the train and other bus services, the following services will be withdrawn. Wherever possible, alternative services are available for affected commuters.

From Sunday, 11 March 2007
- Introduction of new services 751, 935 & 951
- Changes to ITBS services 602, 603, 605, 606, 607, 608 & 609

As part of our continuous efforts to serve our commuters better, UrbanLinkz will be introducing four new services from Sunday, 11 March 2007. The new services are:

Service 751
Yishun to Singapore Expo via SLE/TPE, Tampines & Simei.

Service 935
Yew Tee to Marina Centre via KJE, Bukit Panjang Ring Road, BKE/PIE, Novena, Little India & Bugis.

Service 951
Marsiling to Eunos via Woodlands Avenue 4, SLE/CTE, Upper Paya Lebar Road & Ubi Avenue 2.

Service 963
Woodlands to Bedok via Yishun, CTE, Hougang Ave 3 & Kaki Bukit Ave 1.

With the introduction of service 963, current service 770 plying between Woodlands and Bedok via Hougang Central will be withdrawn. In addition to service 963, affected passengers have alternative service 771 to get to their destinations.

Rationalisation of ITBS Services

On the same day, to streamline our bus service operations, we will be dropping our ITBS subsidiary. As such, all current ITBS services will either be reclassified as UrbanLinkz services or withdrawn due to duplication with the rail system and other bus services.

Bedok to Bukit Merah
Will be renumbered as UrbanLinkz service 741
Route changes: The service will ply Old Airport Road instead of Guillemard Road and amended to serve Bedok Reservoir Road instead of New Upper Changi Road.

ITBS Service 603
Bukit Batok to Sengkang
Service to be withdrawn due to low ridership and duplication with other bus services.

ITBS Service 605
Sengkang to HarbourFront
Service to be withdrawn due to duplication with the NSL and NEL.

ITBS Service 606
Sengkang to Yishun
Service to be withdrawn due to low ridership and duplication with other bus services.

ITBS Service 607
Bukit Batok to HarbourFront
Service to be withdrawn due to duplication with the EWL and NSL.

ITBS Service 608
Sengkang to Marine Parade Road (loop)
Will be renumbered as UrbanLinkz service 740
Route changes: The service will ply Tampines Ave 5 instead of Tampines Ave 9 and Tampines Ave 6 and amended to serve Bedok South instead of New Upper Changi Road.

ITBS Service 609
Tampines to Toa Payoh
Will be renumbered as UrbanLinkz service 742
Route changes: The service will ply express along PIE instead of MacPherson Road to quicken journey time.
